Detectives seek help identifying suspect in indecent exposure case

Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an indecent exposure incident near Greenbriar. On August 20, 2024, at 6:35 p.m., officers responded to a report of a sex offense on the 12800 block of Mount Royal Lane. A victim reported seeing a man engaging in inappropriate behavior near a trail. Despite canvassing the area, officers could not locate the suspect.

Security footage obtained during the investigation shows the individual involved. Authorities urge anyone who can identify or has seen this person, or believes they were a victim of indecent exposure, to contact the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 3. Anonymous tips can be submitted via Crime Solvers by calling 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477) or through their website. The ‘P3 Tips’ App “Fairfax Co Crime Solvers” is also available for submissions. Anonymous tipsters may receive a cash reward and are encouraged to provide contact information for follow-up by detectives.

Victim specialists from the Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that appropriate resources and assistance are provided to those affected.

Residents are encouraged to register their cameras with Connect Fairfax County to aid FCPD in solving crimes and supporting investigations.
