Detectives seek public help after burglary at Springfield tobacco shop

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department are asking for public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent burglary at a Springfield tobacco store.

According to police, officers responded to an alarm at the Tobacco Hut located at 6343 Rolling Road in Springfield on November 25 at 12:24 a.m. The complainant told police that an unknown individual had forced entry into the business. Surveillance footage reviewed by officers showed a man breaking into the store around 12:16 a.m., stealing merchandise, and then leaving the premises.

Police have released security footage of the incident and are urging anyone with information about this case to contact their West Springfield District Station at 703-644-7377 and ask to speak with a detective. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477) or online.

The department encourages residents to register their security cameras with Connect Fairfax County, which helps law enforcement solve crimes, find missing persons, and support investigations.
