Early voting for the Democratic primary election in Fairfax County is set to begin on Friday, May 2, ahead of the June 17 primary elections. The primary will decide the Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor and attorney general. The Republican Party will not hold a primary in Fairfax County due to the lack of contested positions, following the withdrawal of Pat Herrity from the race due to health concerns.

As an open primary system, Virginia allows voters to choose between the Democratic or Republican primary, regardless of their party registration. Voters in November will have the opportunity to vote for statewide offices, including governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and members of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Sample ballots are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean. Voters can check their assigned precincts and view their ballots before the election. Early voting locations in Fairfax County will be accessible through June 14, with designated venues including government centers, libraries, and community centers.

Measures are in place to ensure election security through logic and accuracy testing of voting machines and strict ballot handling protocols. Election day will take place on June 17, during which voters should confirm their registration and polling place at vote.virginia.gov.

Virginia law requires voters to present identification when voting. Options such as signing an ID Confirmation Statement or using curbside voting are available for those without ID or with a disability. Ballot drop boxes will be available throughout early voting locations and a 24/7 drop box at the Fairfax County Government Center. More information is accessible on the Fairfax County government website or through their election office.
