Early voting has commenced for the special election to select a new representative for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District. The early voting period extends until September 6, with the special election scheduled for September 9.

Voters residing in the 11th district are eligible to participate. To verify voter registration and district information, residents can utilize the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal, Fairfax County’s My Neighborhood tool, or contact the Fairfax County Office of Elections at 703-222-0776.

Two primary early voting locations are available from July 25 through September 6: the Fairfax County Government Center and the North County Governmental Center. These sites will be closed on Labor Day, September 1. Additionally, nine other sites will open from August 29 through September 6.

For those opting to vote by mail, absentee ballot requests must be submitted by August 29. Completed ballots need to be dropped off by 7 p.m. on Election Day or postmarked by that date and received by noon on September 12.

The deadline for voter registration or updates is set for September 2. District residents have the option to register and vote simultaneously during early voting from September 3-6 or at their designated polling place on Election Day.

Voters are encouraged to bring a valid photo ID but may fill out an ID confirmation form if necessary. Curbside voting and other accommodations are provided for voters with disabilities.

Voting materials are accessible in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean. For further details, individuals can visit fairfaxcounty.gov/elections or reach out via phone at 703-222-0776.
