Fairfax County Government has used its official Twitter account to share updates and public service information on several key issues in September 2025.

On September 12, the county addressed local drought conditions, stating, “The National Integrated Drought Information System recently classified nearly half of Fairfax County in a moderate drought status. @ffxfirerescue offers several tips to prevent fires in these drought conditions: https://t.co/qiOuETyErB https://t.co/gpq3iN642X”.

A day later, on September 13, the government highlighted suicide prevention efforts. The tweet read, “Suicide is a serious public health matter, and prevention efforts are critical. Did you know, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in Virginia? We offer numerous resources and support services. Call or text 9-8-8, the 24/7 Suicide and Crisis Hotline https://t.co/vY9PWdEGvA https://t.co/9px1Ojz8ff”.

On September 15, Fairfax County recognized Hispanic Heritage Month with a post stating, “#HispanicHeritageMonth, observed from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, is a time to honor and appreciate the vibrant history, culture, and diversity of Hispanic communities across the United States. https://t.co/hNO2rfPmU1”.

Fairfax County is located in Northern Virginia and serves as one of the most populous jurisdictions in the state. The county regularly uses social media platforms to communicate important safety information and community initiatives to residents.
