Fairfax County Government shared updates on recent achievements and community events through its official Twitter account in August 2025.
On August 14, the county announced recognition from the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo), stating, “We’re excited to share that we received four @VACounties 2025 Achievement Awards, recognizing our leading role in advancing community well-being through innovation, collaboration and impact! Learn more: https://t.co/RgoARp8aX6 https://t.co/rWTOF2ug65”. The VACo Achievement Awards honor local governments for innovative programs that improve services for residents.
Later that day, Fairfax County reported significant early voting turnout for an upcoming special election. According to their post on August 14, “Nearly 20,000 votes have been cast so far during early voting for the 11th Congressional District special election. Two early voting sites are open weekdays. Additional sites open Aug. 29: https://t.co/56QXWL8qhD https://t.co/LpQQGAbkoV”. Early voting allows eligible voters to cast ballots before Election Day at designated locations across the county.
The following morning, Fairfax County promoted a local event with a tweet dated August 15: “#ICYMI Springfield Bridge Walk is set for Saturday, Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m. The event will feature music, food, community groups, local businesses and fun https://t.co/KhqJ57GEL1”. The Springfield Bridge Walk is an annual tradition aimed at fostering community spirit by bringing together residents and organizations.
