Fairfax County Government has announced several upcoming community events and updates through its official Twitter account.

On August 22, 2025, Fairfax County Government posted about an animal adoption event: “Exciting news! @fairfaxanimals Clear the Shelters adoption event is back from Friday, Aug. 29 to Sunday, Aug. 31.

All pets will have their adoption fee waived at our Lorton and Fairfax locations.
