The Fairfax County Government has recently communicated several updates and events through their social media platform. These announcements cover a range of topics from public safety measures to community engagement opportunities and health advisories.

On May 21, 2025, the Fairfax County Government announced that “work zone speed cameras will be installed on Fairfax County Parkway between Popes Head Road and Burke Center Parkway.” A warning period will commence on June 15, lasting for 30 days. Starting July 15, violators may incur fines up to $100.

In a post dated May 22, 2025, the government invited local entrepreneurs to “join us for Fairfax County’s Small Business Forum on May 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Government Center!” The event aims to provide insights into working with the county and obtaining small business certification.

Also on May 22, the county provided resources for tick prevention in a tweet titled “Your Guide to Tick Prevention.” This guide includes eight ways to prevent tick bites, methods for removing ticks, information about a free tick identification service, understanding how ticks find hosts, and strategies for reducing ticks in residential areas.

Fairfax County is located in Virginia and is part of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area.
