Fairfax County Government has announced several updates and events through its official Twitter account in late July 2025.
On July 24, the county shared that “Michelle M. Kaminsky will receive her official commission as a Fairfax Circuit Court judge during an investiture ceremony at the Fairfax County Courthouse.” The ceremony is scheduled for July 25.
Later on July 24, the county informed residents about measures to address high temperatures: “Our heat plan has been activated for Friday, July 25. Cooling centers with supplies will be available during operating hours for people needing relief from the heat.”
On July 25, Fairfax County Government promoted an upcoming community event: “Good ol’ fashioned fun is coming to the Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival! Mark your calendars for July 31 – Aug. 3 at Frying Pan Farm Park. Enjoy carnival games and rides, live entertainment, food, farm animals and more “
Michelle M. Kaminsky’s appointment as a circuit court judge follows standard procedures in Virginia, where judges are typically elected by the General Assembly and then formally commissioned before beginning their service on the bench.
The activation of heat plans and opening of cooling centers are part of routine public safety protocols in many U.S. jurisdictions to protect vulnerable populations during periods of extreme heat.
The annual Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival is a longstanding tradition that features agricultural exhibits, family-friendly activities, and community engagement opportunities at Frying Pan Farm Park.
