Fairfax County Government has shared a series of updates and announcements through their official Twitter account, covering topics from school bus safety to cultural celebrations. The tweets, posted on May 12, 2025, address various community initiatives and services.

On May 12, Fairfax County Government announced that the “30-day School Bus Safety Program warning period is over, and live citations begin today, May 12.” This initiative aims to enforce traffic regulations regarding school buses. Drivers who fail to comply with the rule of stopping for a bus with its stop arm extended will face a fine of $250.

In another tweet posted later the same day, Fairfax County Government informed residents about “curbside early voting” availability for individuals with disabilities or those aged 65 or older. Voters can utilize this service by locating the “Curbside Voting” sign at early voting sites and contacting the provided phone number upon arrival.

Additionally, Fairfax County’s Public Library is hosting events to celebrate Jewish American heritage. As per their tweet on May 12, “Our Public Library celebrates the history, culture and contributions of Jewish Americans with a virtual reality exhibition.” The celebration includes book discussions, presentations, crafts, children’s storytimes, among other activities.

The curbside early voting service is part of an effort to make voting more accessible to all eligible voters in Fairfax County.
