On August 30, the county government shared a message from the Fairfax County Police Department ahead of the holiday weekend. The following day, on August 31, Fairfax County Government marked International Overdose Awareness Day with a post remembering those lost to overdose in the community. On September 1, Fairfax County Government announced adjustments to its operations due to Labor Day: “Fairfax County Government offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, for the Labor Day holiday.
