Fairfax County Government, the local authority for Fairfax County, Virginia, has shared several community updates and opportunities through its official Twitter account in late August 2025.

On August 23, Fairfax County Government posted: “Summer may be winding down, but Visit Fairfax compiled a list of things to do this month in our county! Check it out: https://t.co/KoWqLADXre https://t.co/ZYKjfv9l9A”

Two days later, on August 25, the county announced an upcoming event: “Join us for the 10th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon community bike ride on Saturday, Oct. 18 Register by Sept. 5 to save on registration and reserve your spot! Details: https://t.co/T4k8ZBobPw https://t.co/1x2CSH2NlT”

Also on August 25, another tweet encouraged residents to volunteer with local youth safety programs: “Are you available on weekdays during school hours and enjoy working with kids? If so, volunteer to teach kids about staying safe Apply online at https://t.co/15A2vhi4Ap or contact the Body Safety staff at DFSBodySafety@FairfaxCounty.gov or 703-324-7459. https://t.co/SDl6gN1lch”

Fairfax County is one of the most populous jurisdictions in Virginia and regularly uses social media to inform residents about events and public service opportunities.
