Fairfax County Government recently shared several updates through its official social media account. The announcements, posted on June 2, 2025, cover a range of topics from local government initiatives to community programs.
In an effort to inform the public about upcoming developments, Fairfax County Government announced a “proposed Unified Sanitation Districts at a Town Hall and Q&A” session. This event is scheduled for June 3 at 6:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Supervisor Pat Herrity alongside Fairfax Public Works. It will be broadcast live on Channel 16 and Facebook. Residents are encouraged to participate by submitting questions or comments via phone or email.
Recognizing the significance of fatherhood, the county also highlighted “Fatherhood Awareness Month”. The announcement emphasizes the critical role fathers play in their children’s development and well-being throughout their lives. To support this initiative, Fairfax County is offering a weekly online Fatherhood Workshop Series every Tuesday in June from 1-2:30 p.m.
In another update, Fairfax County revealed that its Speed Camera Program is undergoing expansion with the addition of “10 additional photo speed enforcement cameras in school zones.” The notice period for these new cameras commenced on June 2, initiating a subsequent 30-day warning period before full enforcement begins.
The Unified Sanitation Districts proposal aims to streamline waste management services across various regions within Fairfax County.
