The Fairfax County Government has recently shared a series of updates on social media, covering topics from community celebrations to public service changes. The posts aim to inform and engage residents on current events and upcoming initiatives.

On June 15, 2025, the Fairfax County Government extended greetings to all fathers and father figures with a message celebrating Father’s Day. They expressed their best wishes for families to enjoy their time together. “Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father figures. Wishing you a wonderful time with your family and loved ones.”

Later that day, the county announced the commencement of a warning period for work zone speed cameras on Fairfax County Parkway. Drivers exceeding the speed limit will receive notices by mail during this period. Starting July 15, fines up to $100 will be imposed on violators. “The warning period for the work zone speed cameras on Fairfax County Parkway begins today. Drivers who exceed the speed limit will receive a notice in the mail. Starting July 15, violators will receive fines up to $100.”

On June 16, 2025, the government discussed potential changes in waste management through the consideration of Unified Sanitation Districts aimed at centralizing trash and recycling services. This proposal may impact residents who currently manage their own bin placement for pickup.
