Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau Child Exploitation Unit have arrested David Mark Sabin, 38, of Ashburn, in connection with an online solicitation case involving a person he believed to be a 14-year-old minor.

According to police, an undercover detective posing as a minor was contacted by Sabin in July. Authorities said Sabin initiated inappropriate conversations and arranged to travel to Fairfax County for unlawful sexual activity with the individual he thought was a minor.

Investigators linked Sabin to another similar incident from October 2024, where he allegedly engaged online with another detective who was also posing as a minor.

On August 11, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at Sabin’s residence in Loudoun County with assistance from the Virginia State Police and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Sabin was taken into custody without incident.

Sabin faces multiple charges including four counts of Solicitation of a Minor, two counts of Production of CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material), Attempted Aggravated Sexual Battery, Attempted Object Sexual Penetration, Attempted Sodomy, and Attempted Indecent Liberties. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Police stated that Sabin had been employed as a teacher at Oak Hill Christian School in McNair but his employment has been terminated following the investigation. Detectives are seeking information from anyone who believes they or their children may have had inappropriate contact with Sabin.
