The Fairfax County Police Department announced on April 9 a series of community events taking place throughout the county during the week of April 11. The schedule includes grand openings, health fairs, training sessions, and meetings at various district stations.
These events are designed to help residents engage with local law enforcement, build stronger relationships, and enhance public safety in their neighborhoods. The department said that participating in such activities can help prevent crime and foster cooperation between the police and the community.
Highlights from this week’s calendar include the New Franconia Station Grand Opening Ceremony on Saturday, April 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 7170 Silver Lake Blvd in Alexandria; an Alexandria Health Fair later that day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mount Vernon District Station; Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Training on Monday, April 13 at Fair Oaks District Station; “Coffee with a Cop” on Wednesday morning in Reston; Community Advisory Committee meetings Wednesday evening in both Franconia and Mount Vernon districts; and a Scams and Frauds Presentation Thursday evening at Fair Oaks.
