The Fairfax County Police Department announced on Mar. 12 a series of community events scheduled for the week, including meetings and presentations aimed at strengthening ties between residents and law enforcement.
These events are designed to encourage public participation, improve safety, prevent crime, and build stronger relationships with first responders in the area.
Among the activities planned is “Coffee with a Cop” on Saturday, Mar. 14 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 10301 New Guinea Rd in Fairfax. On Wednesday, Mar. 18, there will be a Personal Safety Presentation from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 6140 Rolling Rd in Springfield, as well as Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings in both Franconia and Mount Vernon districts later that evening. A virtual presentation on scams and frauds is also scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Residents are encouraged to contact their local police district station or email fcpdOutreach@fairfaxcounty.gov for more information about these events. The department also invites the public to sign up on Nextdoor to receive updates and event notifications.
Each police district station offers its own newsletter featuring updates on local issues, safety tips, and community news. Subscriptions can be managed online under Public Safety for each preferred district station.
The department further encourages those interested in joining the team to visit its website for career opportunities and invites residents to register their security cameras with Connect Fairfax County to assist investigations.
