The Fairfax County Police Department has announced the graduation of Session 88, a new group of law enforcement officers. This session includes 38 newly sworn officers, with 29 joining the ranks of the Fairfax County Police. Among these recruits, 27 hold college degrees, including one with a Master of Business Administration. Three members were college athletes in baseball, lacrosse, and soccer.

The new officers bring linguistic diversity to the department, speaking eight languages: Arabic, Spanish, Hindi, Pashtu, Urdu, Punjabi, Yoruba, and Krio. The session aligns with the FCPD’s 30X30 pledge to increase female representation in recruit classes to 30% by 2030; five women are among the new FCPD officers.

Training for these officers began on November 1, 2024, at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy and concluded after a 26-week program covering law enforcement procedures and community relationship building. Following graduation, they will be assigned to one of eight district stations for a 12-week field training period under supervision.

FCPD welcomes these individuals and highlights their potential contributions to maintaining safety in the community. Those interested in pursuing a career with Virginia’s largest police department can find more information at JoinFCPD.com.
