Since 1988, the Fairfax County Police Department has organized Santa’s Ride, an annual initiative to deliver toys and gifts to children in hospitals and local charities during the holiday season. This year, the department continues its tradition with a campaign inspired by the movie “Home Alone,” aiming to ensure that no child is left without holiday joy.

The police department is encouraging community members to donate new, unwrapped toys, books, or games at designated drop-off locations throughout Fairfax County. Donations will be accepted until Monday, December 8. The list of drop-off sites includes government buildings, police stations, local businesses, and other public facilities across the county.

A statement from the department reads: “Thank you to our community and law enforcement partners for keeping this tradition alive. Let’s make this holiday season magical!”

Residents interested in learning more about joining the Fairfax County Police Department can visit their website for information on recruitment opportunities. The department also invites community members to connect through platforms such as Neighbors by Ring and social media channels including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram at @FairfaxCountyPD.

For further updates on Santa’s Ride and other initiatives, individuals are encouraged to read the department’s blog.
