Fairfax County, VA – The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) is engaging with the community through a series of events and programs aimed at fostering public safety and strengthening relationships between residents and first responders. These initiatives include police district station events, community meetings, and ongoing programs.

Several events are scheduled for this week. On Saturday, June 7, from 9 am to 1 pm, the Rotary Club Food Drive will take place at Mason District Station located at 6351 Columbia Pike in Annandale. Also on June 7, from 11 am to 3 pm, Summer Palooza will be held at Mount Vernon District Station at 2511 Parkers Lane in Alexandria. Additionally, a Chick Fil A Touch a Truck Event is planned for Fair Oaks District Station from 11 am to 1 pm at 12777 Fair Lakes Circle in Fairfax.

A Personal Safety Presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at West Springfield District Station located at 8855 Lorton Rd in Lorton.

The FCPD encourages residents to contact their local police district station or sign up on Nextdoor for more information about these events and others shared by the department.

Each district station offers newsletters providing updates on local issues, safety tips, and community events. Residents can subscribe under Public Safety for their preferred district station.

The FCPD also offers several programs for youth and young adults in Fairfax County and the Metro Washington area. “Police Leaders of Tomorrow” runs from June 23-27 with an application deadline of June 8. It is open to young adults aged between 18-24 years in the Metro Washington area. The “Teen Police Academy” takes place from July 14-18 with applications due by June 25; it welcomes students entering grades ten through twelve during the upcoming school year. Lastly, “Future Women Leaders in Law Enforcement” occurs from July 28-August 1 with applications due by June 25; it invites future women leaders entering grades ten through twelve during the next school year within the Metro Washington area.

A Federal Employee Hiring Expo is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, from 8 am to noon at Chantilly’s location on Lee Road.
