Fairfax County, VA – The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) is actively engaging with the community through various events. These include police district station events, community meetings, and ongoing programs aimed at enhancing public safety, preventing crime, and fostering stronger relationships with local first responders.

Several events are scheduled for this week:

– On Saturday, June 14, a Car Seat Inspection Event will take place from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Franconia (6121 Franconia Rd, Alexandria) and from 10 am to 1 pm at West Springfield (6140 Rolling Rd, Springfield). Additionally, a Summer Reading Festival will be held from 10 am to 1 pm at Mount Vernon (2501 Sherwood Hall Ln, Alexandria).

– On Tuesday, June 17, a Steering Wheel Lock Giveaway is scheduled from 2 pm to 4 pm in Reston (1801 Cameron Glen Dr), followed by a Personal Safety Presentation from 5 pm to 6 pm in Mason (5128 Lincoln Ave, Alexandria).

– Wednesday, June 18 features several activities including Coffee with a Cop from 8 am to 9 am in West Springfield (9278A Old Keene Mill Rd), an Avoiding Scams & Fraud session from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm also in West Springfield (6140 Rolling Rd), and Community Advisory Committee Meetings taking place between 7 pm and 9 pm in Franconia (6121 Franconia Rd), Mount Vernon (2501 Sherwood Hall Ln), and Sully (4900 Stonecroft Blvd).

For more information on these events or others organized by FCPD, residents are encouraged to contact their local police district station or sign up on Nextdoor.

The department also offers newsletters for each district station providing updates on local issues and safety tips. Subscriptions can be made under Public Safety for preferred districts.

Youth and young adults have opportunities through FCPD’s programs such as the Teen Police Academy scheduled for July 14-18 and Future Women Leaders in Law Enforcement running from July 28-August 1. Both programs have an application deadline of June 25.

Additionally, on Saturday, June 14 there will be a Mosaic Pride Event from 3 pm to 9 pm at Mosaic District Ave Ste in Fairfax.

FCPD invites those interested in joining the team to visit their website for recruitment information. Residents can also register their cameras with Connect Fairfax County to assist FCPD investigations.
