The Fairfax County Police Department is continuing its efforts to connect with residents by organizing and participating in a series of community events this week. The department emphasizes that such involvement can help improve public safety, prevent crime, and build stronger relationships between the police and local residents.

Among the scheduled events are “Juice Box with a Cop & School Supply Giveaway” on Saturday, August 9 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at 10301 New Guinea Rd in Fairfax. Later that day, the Cardboard Boat Regatta will take place at Lake Anne in Reston from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., located at 1639 Washington Plaza N.

On Tuesday, August 12, two separate programs are planned. An Online Safety Presentation will be held at Fair Oaks District Station (12300 Route 50, Fairfax) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., while West Springfield will host “Personal Safety for College Students” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 6140 Rolling Rd in Springfield.

The week’s activities conclude with the Springfield Nights Concert Series on Wednesday, August 13 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station).

Residents seeking more information about these or other upcoming events are encouraged to contact their local police district station or sign up for updates through Nextdoor. According to the department, subscribing to district station newsletters provides timely updates on local issues and community news directly via email.

The police department also invites those interested in law enforcement careers to visit its website for recruitment information. Additionally, residents can register their security cameras through Connect Fairfax County—a program designed to assist investigations and locate missing persons.

For ongoing updates and additional ways to stay connected with the department’s activities and initiatives, community members are encouraged to read the FCPD blog or follow @FairfaxCountyPD on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram.
