Fairfax County, VA – The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) is actively engaging with the community through a series of events aimed at enhancing public safety and fostering stronger relationships between residents and local first responders. These events include police district station gatherings, community meetings, and ongoing programs.

Among the upcoming events are a Car Seat Inspection Event on June 28 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Franconia, located at 6121 Franconia Rd, Alexandria, VA 22310. On July 2, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, a Neighborhood Watch Training will be held in West Springfield at 6140 Rolling Rd, Springfield, VA 22152. Additionally, a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Training is scheduled for July 3 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Reston at 1801 Cameron Glen Dr, Reston, VA 20190.

The FCPD also offers newsletters from each district station that provide updates on local issues, safety tips, community events, and more. Residents can subscribe under Public Safety for their preferred district station.

Programs such as the Teen Police Academy and Future Women Leaders in Law Enforcement offer unique opportunities for youth and young adults in Fairfax County and the Metro Washington area. The Teen Police Academy runs from July 14-18 with an application deadline extended to July 7. It is open to students entering grades 10 through 12 during the upcoming school year. The Future Women Leaders program takes place from July 28-August 1 with applications due by July 14.

A local recruiting event is set for June 28 from noon to 5 pm during the Lake Fairfax Fireworks Event at Lake Fairfax Dr in Reston.

The FCPD encourages those interested in joining their team to visit their website for more information. They also invite residents to register their cameras with Connect Fairfax County to assist in solving crimes and supporting investigations.
