Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division released new surveillance video on Apr. 1 of a suspect linked to a series of burglaries and incidents of indecent exposure in the London Towne neighborhood of Centreville.

The police say that public assistance is needed to identify the individual responsible for several early morning break-ins, some involving a fully nude suspect entering or attempting to enter homes. The investigation aims to address community concerns about safety following these incidents.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Apr. 1 to Palmerston Square after a resident received an alert from their home surveillance system. Video captured just after 5:00 a.m. showed a fully nude male, believed by detectives to have clothing on his head, approaching the rear sliding glass door of the residence and attempting entry before fleeing into nearby woods when unsuccessful.

Detectives now describe the suspect as a Black male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 3 inches tall with a skinny build based on newly obtained footage. They believe this individual may be connected with earlier reported burglaries in London Towne where similar behavior was observed.

Previous incidents include reports between March 5 and March 8 in which victims encountered or observed an unclothed man inside their homes during early morning hours after he entered through unsecured doors. In one case, evidence indicated an attempted burglary using objects found at the scene.

Police are urging residents who may have information or recognize the man seen in surveillance images or video to contact Sully District Station detectives at (703)814-7000 or submit anonymous tips via Crime Solvers by phone or online platforms such as the ‘P3 Tips’ app “Fairfax Co Crime Solvers.” Anonymous tipsters are eligible for cash rewards if information leads to an arrest.

Authorities also encourage residents to register their security cameras with Connect Fairfax County as part of ongoing efforts to solve crimes and support investigations.
