Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) announced on March 18 a series of updates for students, families, and staff regarding recent achievements, upcoming events, and important deadlines. The announcement includes recognition of student-athletes, opportunities for family engagement, and reminders about school schedules.
The update highlights the importance of community involvement in education and provides information on how families can participate in surveys and events. FCPS encourages parents to share their feedback through the Family Engagement Survey by Monday, March 23. The survey is available in multiple languages and can be accessed online or via paper copies at schools.
Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid continues her outreach efforts with Community Conversations scheduled throughout the spring at various elementary schools. These sessions are open to all community members who wish to share their thoughts or ask questions. Registration is encouraged but not required.
The district also reminds families about key academic processes such as course request acknowledgments for the next school year through SIS ParentVUE. Parents have until Friday, March 27 to review and confirm their children’s course selections using this new feature.
Additional announcements include registration deadlines for the elementary magnet school lottery and details about the upcoming Special Education Family Conference on Saturday, April 18 at Marshall High School. Nominations are open for the Fairfax County Special Education PTA Awards until March 27, with honorees to be recognized at a ceremony in May.
Other topics covered are recognitions of dedicated staff through FCPS CARES awards, initiatives promoting student attendance and financial literacy education, as well as calendar reminders for holidays, early release days, spring break dates, and upcoming School Board meetings.
