As summer begins, Fairfax County Public Schools are offering their outdoor facilities for public use. Individuals can access school blacktops, playgrounds, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, and tracks without prior scheduling. These areas are open from dawn to dusk but not during school hours or scheduled activities.

Community members using these facilities must share them with others and ensure they leave the areas clean by removing any waste or debris. More details about the usage of school grounds can be found on the FCPS availability webpage.

Certain items and activities are prohibited on school premises. This includes alcoholic beverages, animals (with the exception of service animals), car washes, drones, fireworks, gas or charcoal grills, illegal drugs, moon bounces, paintball games, rocket launches, tobacco products or smoking devices. A comprehensive list of prohibitions is available on the FCPS Community Use webpage.

For groups interested in reserving facilities formally, they should contact fcpscommunityuse@fcps.edu or call 571-423-2340 for more information.
