Fairfax County is seeking community feedback on proposed gateway signage and banners for Bailey’s Crossroads and Seven Corners. The initiative aims to create distinct identities for these areas within the Mason District by marking boundaries, highlighting notable locations, and reflecting each community’s character.

“The new gateway signs and banners will help identify the boundaries of each area, highlight special places and convey each community’s unique character, while putting them into context within the greater Mason District of Fairfax County. The goal of this project is to define each area with a recognizable identity and brand, and community input is integral to the process.”

Residents can review design concepts online and submit their opinions through an online survey until August 31. Community responses will influence the final designs.

Community engagement began in May 2025 with an initial survey focused on identifying characteristics unique to Bailey’s Crossroads and Seven Corners. Survey results were followed by a June workshop where participants selected images that matched themes identified by graphic designers. In July, updated signage concepts were presented at a public meeting along with the launch of the current online survey.

The Department of Planning and Development leads this project in partnership with the Crossroads and Corners Coalition. Design work has been contracted to Torti Gallas + Partners and Ashton Design.
