A man has been charged with felony hit and run after a collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in Woodlawn. The incident occurred on January 29, involving Reginald Brown, 42, of Fairfax, who was driving a 2007 black Chevrolet Suburban on Richmond Highway. According to detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit, Brown struck Erica Tibbs, 33, of Alexandria, and her 5-year-old child as they were crossing the highway. Following the accident, Brown fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Tibbs was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, while her child remains stable.

Brown was apprehended on April 23 by detectives and charged with felony hit and run. He is currently held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
