Fatal crash in Lorton leaves one dead as police investigate

Detectives in the West Springfield Police District are currently investigating a fatal collision in Lorton involving two vehicles. This incident occurred at 5:14 p.m. on Ox Road near Davis Drive, where a northbound 2012 Ford F350 towing a fishing boat veered off course, crossing the median and colliding head-on with a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze.

Michelle Davis, 33, the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze and a resident of Lorton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford F350’s driver was taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The ongoing investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit has preliminarily ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor, with speed still under consideration.

Victim specialists from the Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division are providing support to the family of the deceased.
