Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Clifton. The incident took place yesterday at 3:24 p.m. on Chapel Road and involved a 2005 Toyota Highlander that veered off the road and hit a tree.

The driver, identified as Alexander Aiden Richmond, 18, of Clifton, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to initial findings, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, but speed is still being examined.

Authorities are seeking information from anyone who may have details about the accident. Those with information are encouraged to contact the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543. Additionally, individuals can download the ‘P3 Tips’ App “Fairfax Co Crime Solvers.” Anonymous tipsters may qualify for a cash reward and are asked to provide contact details if they wish for follow-up communication.
