Man arrested in Tysons for possession of stolen firearm

Detectives from the Tysons Urban Team of the Fairfax County Police Department arrested an 18-year-old man after he was found with a stolen firearm in Tysons. The incident occurred on November 28, when officers responded to a report of larceny in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road.

According to police, loss prevention staff observed the suspect concealing items and leaving before being apprehended. Detectives identified the suspect as Makio Smith of Washington, D.C. During their investigation, they discovered that Smith was carrying a firearm reported stolen from Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He faces several charges including Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Concealed Weapon Violation, Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny, Larceny with Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and Felony Facemask. He is currently being held without bond.
