Detectives from the Mason Police District have apprehended a Maryland man linked to a shooting incident in Bailey’s Crossroads on May 1. The suspect, Evangel McNeill, aged 35, was involved in an altercation outside a nightclub that escalated into gunfire. McNeill allegedly shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains in non-life-threatening condition. Through collaboration with the Prince George’s County Police Department, McNeill was located and arrested in Maryland by the Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Team. He is currently held at the Prince George’s County Jail, awaiting extradition to Fairfax County. There, he faces charges of Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

Authorities urge anyone with information about this case to contact the Fairfax County Police Department Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2. The Mobile tip411 App “Fairfax Co Crime Solvers” is also available for submissions. Anonymous tipsters may receive cash rewards ranging from $100 to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

Victim specialists from the Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division are assisting the victim’s family with necessary resources and support.
