Seven people face charges after coordinated retail thefts at Reston Home Depot

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, along with officers from the Reston District, have charged seven individuals in connection with a series of thefts totaling more than $20,000 from a Home Depot store in Reston.

On July 19, police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Home Depot located on the 1600 block of Reston Parkway. Officers arrested Roberto Hernandez Cruz, 27, of Ashburn at the scene. The investigation was then taken over by detectives who worked closely with Home Depot Asset Protection staff.

Through their investigation, authorities identified an organized group that had targeted the same store more than twenty times since June. The suspects allegedly stole various tools during these incidents.

The following individuals were charged in connection with the thefts:

Cristian Rivas Tiquiram, 24, of no fixed address faces twelve counts of Petit Larceny, eight counts of Grand Larceny, four counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell, and Conspiracy to Commit Organized Retail Theft. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Roberto Hernandez Cruz was charged with four counts of Grand Larceny, three counts of Petit Larceny, and two counts of Larceny with Intent to Sell. He was released on a $6,500 bond after being transported to the detention center.

Diego Canjura Ramirez, 18, also without a fixed address, faces two counts each of Petit Larceny and Grand Larceny as well as one count of Larceny with Intent to Sell. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

Junior Gonzalez Coello, 30, of Herndon was charged with two counts each of Grand and Petit Larceny and released on a $17,000 bond.

Leslie Argueta Medina, 23, also from Herndon, faces charges including Grand Larceny and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. She is being held on a $1,000 bond.

Cristian Hernandez Mejia, 39, another Herndon resident charged in this case with four counts of Grand Larceny and two counts related to intent to sell stolen goods; he remains held without bond.

A juvenile suspect aged 17 has been charged with two counts of Petit Larceny.

Detectives are seeking additional information regarding these incidents. Anonymous tipsters may be eligible for cash rewards up to $5,000 if their information leads to an arrest or indictment.
