Town of Vienna issued the following announcement on Aug. 27
Clear the clutter from your home by disposing of hard-to-recycle items at the Town’s Quarterly Recycling Day. The fall event takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Northside Property Yard, 600 Mill Street NE.
Town residents are invited to drive up and drop off auto waste (such as used oil and antifreeze), electronics (no TVs computer monitors please), and scrap metal for recycling. No tires or hazardous materials such as paint, insecticides and fluorescent bulbs will be accepted.
As a reminder, clean jars and bottles should be dropped into the in the large, purple dumpster on Mill Street NE next to Capitol Building Supply. This bin is provided by Fairfax County, and the glass is picked up weekly. The recycled glass will be used as a substitute for stone in county projects. Other purple glass recycling bins are located throughout the county, including one at the Dunn Loring School at the corner of Idylwood and Gallows roads.
