Town of Herndon recently issued the following announcement.
NatureFest in Runnymede Park
Nature Fest
Sunday, September 26, 1-5p.m.
Runnymede Park, 195 Herndon Parkway, between Elden Street and Queens Row Street.
Free admission and parking
NatureFest 2021 is a family-friendly, hands-on nature event, which spotlights the animals, plants, and insects that live in Runnymede Park. Event participants can visit different nature stations, which include bees, butterflies, web of life, live animal shows, and arts and crafts. Exhibitors include Arts Herndon, Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, George Mason University, Virginia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Rescue League, and the town’s department of Public Works.
Please bring a water bottle.
Parking:
- Free parking is available at the Herndon Police Station, 397 Herndon Parkway, a third of a mile south of the park entrance and there will be a free shuttle bus. Please wear a mask on the shuttle.
- Additional parking is available at Hunters Creek Swim Club, 417 Queens Row St.
- Limited handicap parking will be available at the event.
- No parking is available along Herndon Parkway.
NatureFest is produced jointly by the Town of Herndon Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Runnymede Park.
