Fairfax County Health Department Now Accepting Requests for Vaccine Services

18

Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 1

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available in locations across our health district — and now the Health Department or a partner vaccinator may even come to you!

Businesses and community event organizers can now request to host a vaccination team to provide COVID-19 vaccines or education/outreach services so that people can learn more about the vaccines.

Requests will be reviewed and matched with an outreach or nursing team from the Fairfax County Health Department. Every attempt will be made to support your event with the best resources for your audience on the date and time of your submitted request. However, because many events take place around the health district every day, submitting a form is not a guarantee that a team is available for your event. The Health Department will fulfill as many requests as possible and will prioritize events with an equity lens.

If you are a business owner or event organizer and are interested in increasing vaccination rates in our community, submit a request to the Health Department here.

Cases in the Fairfax Health District are continuing to increase with the spread of the Delta variant, which spreads more than twice as easily as previous variants. Most transmission is happening among the unvaccinated and in areas with low vaccination rates, making it more urgent than ever to get vaccinated if you are eligible. You know your communities, your employees, your residents, or your members — if you think the Health Department can help them understand vaccination and provide easier access to COVID vaccines, please let us know about your group or event.

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death. They also help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Visit the Health Department’s vaccine website for more information.

Together we can do this!
