Let's have fun and run/walk! Put on your festive summer attire and join us for our Run Into Summer 5K, which will be held on Sunday, June 5, at 7:30am outside the Herndon Community Center. Our family-friendly race course takes you through historic downtown Herndon during Herndon Carnival weekend.
A tie-dye t-shirt and medal will be given to the first 500 preregistered participants. Following the race, participants can enjoy refreshments, door prizes, music, and Kona Ice summer treats. In addition, runners will have the opportunity to visit vendors in our Fitness Expo and pick up some special offers.
Registration
Online race week registration closes on Friday, June 3 at 12pm. Packet pick-up and in-person race week registration ($45) will be available on Saturday, June 4 from 11am-4pm at the Herndon Community Center. Race day registration ($45) will be available on Sunday, June 5 from 6:15-7:15am.

Packet Pick-Up

Directions
From DC/Northern Virginia/Maryland, take Route 66 or 495 to the Dulles Toll Road. Take the Toll Road West to Herndon (Exit 10). Go right on Elden Street. Take a left immediately after the fifth light onto Ferndale Avenue.
Parking
Limited parking will be available at the Herndon Community Center. Additional parking is available at Herndon Middle School, located at 901 Locust Street (from Elden Street, turn right on to Locust Street before coming to Ferndale Avenue).

We are looking for vendors for the Fitness Expo after the race. Get started by completing our Fitness Expo application or you can call Kyle Clarke 703-435-6800 x2109.
Street Closings
The race begins and ends at the Herndon Community Center and pass through the downtown area, causing some brief road and intersection closures between 7-8:30 a.m. Traffic will be managed under the supervision of the Herndon Police. Roads will re-open as soon as the last runner passes or within 50 minutes from the start of the race.

Ferndale Ave from Vine Street to Park Avenue
Center Street from Station Street to Elden Street
Lynn Street from Station Street to Center Street
The intersections of:
Pine Street at Station Street
The Ahmed lot parking exit onto Station Street
Vine Street at Grace Street
Grace Street at Haley Place
