MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION 

MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 7900 block of Richmond Highway, 8/16/22, 9:55 p.m. The victim and a man were in an argument. The man struck the victim with a pickaxe in the upper body. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening. This does not appear to be a random act. 

ROBBERY: 6400 block of Richmond Highway, 8/17/22, 10:05 p.m. The victim was waiting at a bus stop when a man assaulted her, took property, and ran away. No injuries were reported.

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING: North Kings Highway/ Richmond Highway, 8/18/22, 6:25 p.m. Officers attempted to speak with occupants in a vehicle parked in the 7500 block of Richmond Highway. An occupant entered the driver’s seat and quickly accelerated out of the parking lot. Five vehicles were struck prior to officers stopping the car near Richmond Highway and North Kings Highway. No injuries were reported. The driver and passenger were arrested. The driver, a 29-year-old Lorton man, was charged with malicious injury to law enforcement, disregarding a police command to stop, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a schedule I/II drug, obstructing justice, four counts of hit and run, and no operator license. The passenger, a 52-year-old Lorton man, was charged with possession of a schedule I/II drug.

MASON DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: 4900 block of Fran Place, 8/13/22, 4 p.m. The victim was approached by four men who assaulted him and took property. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening. This does not appear to be a random act.

STABBING: 6000 block of Argyle Drive, 8/13/22, 7:36 p.m. A man was stabbed in the upper body during an argument with several juveniles. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5520 Leesburg Pike (Tobacco King), 8/13/22, 11:54 p.m. Two men entered the business, one displayed a machete while they both took merchandise. No injuries were reported. 

ASSAULT BY MOB: 2900 block of Peyton Randolph Drive, 8/14/22, 2:28 a.m. The victim was walking home and was assaulted by several men. This does not appear to be a random act. No injuries were reported. 

ABDUCTION/ASSAULT: 3800 block of Millcreek Drive, 8/17/22, 8 p.m. Three men assaulted the victim. One man displayed a handgun, and the victim was thrown in a vehicle.  The victim was able to escape when the vehicle came to a stop. He was treated for injuries not considered life threatening.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7540 Little River Turnpike (Golden Road Health Center), 8/18/22, 12:48 p.m. A juvenile entered the business, took money, and ran away. Detectives were able to identify the juvenile from information left at the scene. He was arrested and charged with robbery.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION 

ROBBERY: 2500 block of Cornelia Road, 8/12/22, 2:47 a.m. The first victim was dropped off at her residence by a friend. While entering her residence, two men approached, one displayed a handgun, and took property and money. The friend heard the commotion and drove back around to see what was happening. The second victim unknowingly blocked in the two men’s vehicle. A man displayed a handgun demanding he move. The men fled in an SUV. No injuries were reported. 

SHOOTING INTO AN OCCUPIED DWELLING: 11500 block of Cypress Point Court, 8/14/22, 4 a.m. Victim woke up to find damage to the outside of her residence which appeared to be from gun fire. Cartridge cases and bullet fragments were recovered. No injuries were reported. This does not appear to be a random act.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION 

CARJACKING: 6600 block of Forbush Court, 8/12/22, 4:24 p.m. The victim, a ride share driver, arrived to pick up a passenger. The driver and the man got into an argument, the man assaulted the driver and stole his vehicle. The vehicle was abandoned and recovered by detectives nearby.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 9308 Gunston Cove Road (Sunoco), 8/14/22, 11:30 a.m. A man entered the business, assaulted the store employee, took money, and ran away. The victim was treated for minor injuries.

CARJACKING: 6000 block of Hibbling Avenue, 8/15/22, 4:50 a.m. The victim was approached by a 20-year-old man who displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s keys. The victim handed the man the keys to his 2003 Cadillac Escalade and the man drove off. Virginia State Police arrested the man in Stafford County after locating and pursuing him on southbound Interstate 95. The Falls Church man was charged with armed carjacking, robbery, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.           

BANK ROBBERY: 6950 Braddock Road (PNC Bank), 8/15/22, 4:51 p.m. A woman entered the bank, demanded money, and ran away. No injuries were reported.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 8081 Alban Road (Virginia Outdoor Power Equipment), 8/14/22, 2:27 a.m. Two males smashed the front glass door and took merchandise.

FAIR OAKS DISTRICT STATION

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 11901-L Fair Oaks Shopping Center (Macy’s), 8/15/22, 1:59 p.m. Two men exited the store with merchandise they had not paid for. When confronted by a store employee, one of the men displayed a knife and both ran away. No injuries were reported.
