As part of Inova’s nonprofit mission to promote health and education for all the communities we serve, our Division of Population and Community Health provides Health Equity Grants to other nonprofit organizations whose initiatives aim to improve health equity and support under-resourced communities with unmet healthcare needs.
This year Inova distributed a record $1 million to 23 nonprofits. We are featuring each of the recipients, today join us in recognizing the vital work of BPSOS - Đề Án Dân Quyền Việt Nam (BPSOS)!
BPSOS works to transform victims into survivors and active citizens who reach out and help others like them achieve liberty and dignity. With their Inova Health Equity Grant, BPSOS will address the health needs of the Vietnamese Americans in Fairfax County by:
• Increasing awareness of healthcare availability with linguistically appropriate information for the Vietnamese community
• Increasing access of care by providing in-person assistance to facilitate health insurance enrollment and referrals to appropriate agencies across the Vietnamese community
Inova’s Grants Management Office provides oversight to help manage and ensure impartiality of the grant decision process.
