Half Past First Cast leads trip to Alaska, Bear Trail Lodge

Tuesday Jan 10, 2023
12:00 AM - 11:59 PM EST

We'd love for you to fish with us in Bristol Bay, Alaska at Bear Trail Lodge. It's a five-star experience from start to finish, with world-class salmon runs, remote fly-out experiences, exceptional scenery and wildlife, and incredible food. We were there in 2020 for the Sockeye run, and now we're headed back for the Silvers.

Incredible FishingBear Trail Lodge is situated on the banks of the Naknek River, and you never need to leave to enjoy incredible salmon and trout fishing. They also have access to over 30 flyout locations, at most of which you'll never see another person. You can catch rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, Arctic Grayling, and all five species of Pacific Salmon.

The Bears of KatmaiIf you've ever seen bears swatting salmon on a waterfall on National Geographic, it was probably at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. We'll fly there one day and watch them up close and personal. You can fish amongst them or view them from a safe platform, but don't worry, they know you're there, but they're far more interested in eating the plentiful salmon.

A Luxury ExperienceBear Trail Lodge will cater to your every need, with lush cabins and exceptional food and drink. They supply all tackle, including waders, so all you need to bring is clothing for a range of weather conditions and an expectation of success. Your luggage going home may be heavier; we brought home 96 pounds of fillets this year.
