Polls will be open for the Democratic primary in Fairfax County from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17. Voters must go to their designated polling place based on their precinct of residence. Those in line by 7 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.

For those unsure of their polling location, resources are available at vote.virginia.gov and through the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal. Alternatively, voters can call 703-222-0776 (TTY 711) for assistance.

Virginia offers same-day registration during early voting and on Election Day itself. Unregistered voters can register at their polling place and cast a provisional ballot. A valid photo ID is recommended but not mandatory; voters without one can complete an ID confirmation form to cast a regular ballot.

Curbside voting is available for individuals aged 65 or older or those with physical disabilities. Accessible ballot marking machines are provided in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean.

Mail-in ballots must be dropped off at any polling place during voting hours or placed in the drop box outside the Fairfax County Government Center before 7 p.m. on June 17. Mailed ballots need to be postmarked by June 17 and received by noon on June 20.

The Democratic primary ballot includes positions for lieutenant governor and attorney general, with no Republican primary being held this year in Fairfax County due to Virginia’s open primary system allowing voters to participate in either party’s primary.

Fairfax County emphasizes election security measures such as testing and securing voting machines, monitoring ballots and drop boxes under chain of custody protocols, and conducting audits post-election.

For further inquiries or assistance, voters can email voting@fairfaxcounty.gov or call the Office of Elections at the provided number during business hours from Monday to Friday.
