Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau of the Mason Police District have apprehended a woman suspected of robbing a bank in Annandale.

The incident occurred yesterday at 12:04 p.m. when officers responded to a reported bank robbery in the 7000 block of Little River Turnpike. The suspect entered the bank and presented a note to the teller, which demanded money and threatened harm if compliance was not met, although no weapon was shown. After obtaining the cash, the suspect left the premises before authorities arrived.

Later, detectives were able to trace a 2017 Honda Civic associated with the suspect. This investigation led them to the home of Vicky Vien Phung, 36, in Alexandria, who was subsequently apprehended. Phung is currently held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, facing charges of robbery and without the possibility of bond.
